Annapolis, MD (October 3, 2016) - State's Attorney Wes Adams will participate as a panelist in a Tri-County Opioid Addiction Summit featuring speakers Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford and WBAL radio sports personality Keith Mills. Rutherford will outline statewide efforts to combat opioid and heroin abuse. Mills will share thoughts on his personal battle with addiction.
The event will also feature three panels comprised of health and legal leaders from each County who will tackle topics of public health partnerships, drug court programs, the neurobiology of addiction, and law enforcement collaboration. The Anne Arundel County panel will focus on the topic of Drug Court and will include Drug Court graduates, a Drug Court judge, and the State's Attorney.
County Executives Steve Schuh (Anne Arundel County), Allan H. Kittleman (Howard County), and Barry Glassman (Hartford County) will host the event. Each County Executive will outline County-wide efforts to address the growing opioid addiction crisis.
